Building on the format of the previous World Bank Coffee Series session attended by the Project Office in 2025, the February 2026 session brought together development partners and project management units, including the Second Solomon Islands Roads and Aviation Project (SIRAP2) and the Land and Maritime Connectivity Project (LMCP), to examine incident management, monitoring and reporting in greater depth. The training materials addressed key areas relevant to ongoing project delivery, including loan covenant requirements, roles and responsibilities for monitoring, grievance redress mechanisms, incident and accident reporting, core labour standards, community health and safety, contractor Construction Environmental and Social Management Plan (CESMP) monitoring, and the structure of semi-annual safeguard monitoring reports. The session also emphasised that reporting should be concise, evidence-based and focused on current safeguard issues, with clear follow-up on corrective actions. These exchanges support the Project Office’s continued efforts to strengthen environmental and social oversight, improve documentation and maintain consistent reporting to concessional financing partners.
