Job Opportunity: Mid-Term Review (MTR) Consultant – CBSPII Project
The Community Benefit Sharing Project – Phase 2 (CBSPII), funded by the World Bank under the Ministry of Mines, Energy and Rural Electrification (MMERE), is seeking an experienced Mid-Term Review (MTR) Consultant to support project evaluation and implementation.
Location: PMU Office, Honiara
Contract Type: Consultant (International)
Reference: C4-CS-007
The CBSPII works alongside the Tina River Hydropower Development Project (TRHDP) to help communities in the Tina catchment area access improved infrastructure, services, and community benefits.
Key Qualifications
Proven experience in project management and evaluation, especially with World Bank or donor-funded projects.
Strong background in public finance, budgeting, and governance systems.
Experience with field research, stakeholder consultations, and report writing.
Relevant postgraduate degree or equivalent professional experience.

About Us
Tina Hydropower Limited (THL) is leading the development of the largest hydropower project in the Solomon Islands—a 15 MW renewable energy initiative designed to cut electricity costs and reduce reliance on diesel. This is your chance to be part of a historic public-private partnership driving sustainability and climate action.
Your Role
As Electrical Engineer – Assistant, you’ll work closely with the Electrical Manager during the construction phase, supporting technical operations and ensuring smooth implementation of electrical systems for this landmark project.
What We’re Looking For
Degree in Electrical Engineering (4 years)
1–2 years’ experience in hydro or related projects (fresh graduates welcome!)
Valid Solomon Islands Driver’s Licence
Hands-on knowledge of electrical installation, maintenance & troubleshooting
Familiarity with hydropower systems: generators, transformers, switchgear, control panels, power distribution, and more
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in design review, approvals, and implementation
- Support wiring, cable laying, and conduit work
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and government authorities
- Report progress and collaborate on resource planning
Preference
- Candidates from Bahomea and Malango Region
- Solomon Islands Nationals
