The day opened with a meeting with Solomon Power on transmission line implementation, covering design progress, safeguards, procurement status, and the overall timeline to completion. This was followed by the main kick-off meeting, where the Project Manager (Mr. Pradip Verma) from the Project Office presented progress since the last CFP mission in September–October 2025. Discussions covered environmental and social performance, technical implementation, financial matters, and overall coordination across project components.
A joint technical and environmental and social session then examined common priority topics, including reservoir preparation and the sourcing and transportation of aggregates. In the afternoon, the mission continued with a technical meeting to review observations from recent site visits, followed by presentations from THL and HEC on design responses and project implementation matters. The day concluded with a focused discussion on construction optimisation and acceleration, including methodologies to advance critical work areas and strengthen delivery planning.
The March 2026 mission continues with further technical discussions, site verification and coordination among project partners, supporting safe, timely and well-managed implementation of the Tina River Hydropower Development Project.
