📢 Saint Nicholas Anglican College Form 6 science students Visit Tina River Hydropower Project Site. 📍

Students and teachers from Saint Nicholas Anglican College were warmly welcomed to the Tina River Hydropower Development Project (TRHDP) site on Wednesday 13 August 2025, as part of the project’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and educational outreach.

The visit offered students a rare, hands-on opportunity to explore the progress of the Solomon Islands’ first large-scale renewable energy project. Guided by TRHDP engineers and staff, the group toured key project areas—including the dam site, powerhouse location, and access roads—while learning about the engineering, environmental, and social dimensions of the development.

TRHDP’s Project Manager Mr. Pradip Verma and  Project team led the visit, providing students with an overview of the project’s goals, its significance for the country’s energy future, and the environmental safeguards in place. A lively Q&A session followed, where students asked insightful questions about hydropower, sustainability, and careers in the energy sector.
