CBSP2 Updates: Empowering Community Members Through Life Skills and Work Readiness Training in Managikiki Village, Tina Hydro Catchment Area—August 16, 2025.

On August 12th to 16th, 2025, youths and community members from Managikiki and surrounding areas took part in a transformative Life Skills and Work Readiness training under the Community Benefit Sharing Project – Phase 2 of the Tina River Hydropower Development Project (TRHDP). This initiative was designed to equip participants aged 18 and above with essential life skills and foundational knowledge to prepare them for employment opportunities. It also offered practical guidance to help participants pursue job opportunities—whether through the Tina Hydro Development, Hyundai Engineering Company (HEC), SINO, or other businesses operating in the region.

The training delivered face-to-face over five days, the training used interactive and inclusive methods tailored to the village context. Participants engaged with the Work Skills and Readiness Manual, which features seven core modules focused on personal development, employment readiness, and community awareness: (Understanding Ourselves and Others, Caring for Your Health, Understanding Gender, Protecting Our Environment, Seeking Work Opportunities, Building Workplace Soft Skills and Workplace Rules and Procedures)

This training marks a significant step toward preparing local youth and community members for participation in the workforce and fostering a more resilient and empowered community.
