From Selwyn College to Tina River Hydropower Development Project Site! These young Form 6 Science students journeyed from West Guadalcanal to East Guadalcanal—traveling approximately 85.4km from Veranaaso to Malango Ward—for education and science.
Selwyn College students recently visited the Tina River Hydropower Project site, gaining firsthand experience of Solomon Islands’ flagship renewable energy development.
From the dam site to the powerhouse location, students explored how this transformative project is going to deliver clean, reliable energy for our future. Guided by the Project Office, HEC and Tina Hydropower Ltd engineers and staff, they learned about hydropower technology, environmental safeguards, and the role of science in nation-building.
“This is more than a project—it’s a platform for learning, growth, and inspiration,” said TRHDP Project Office Project Manager Mr. Pradip Verma.
We’re proud to support educational outreach that connects young minds with real-world innovation.
